  • A single Customer Information Form is required when a school district is purchasing on behalf of its schools, and it is required for each individual private school, or single charter school.

  • KnoxBoxes® are owned and maintained by the school district or individual school purchasing the box as outlined in the required School Registration Form (below). Only the school buying the box needs to complete a registration form. If a school/school district makes a collaborative decision that the box will be purchased by local law enforcement, then that agency would complete and submit the School Registration Form.
  • The school district or individual school coordinates with their local law enforcement agency(s) to provide a key and the corresponding install location information. (Consider adding law enforcement access for the KnoxBox and key into your active shooter drills to build familiarity and to ensure box contents are updated and accurate).
  • TEA guidelines require a lock box to store keys for law enforcement access. The lock box should be installed in a strategic location to provide access during tactical response events (e.g., at the front of the school campus or next to the school’s marquee). Access TEA requirements.
